Back Again!!!

Keeping a site is so bloody hard work, especially when you have other stuff to do.

But hey I’m still loving Torchwood!

It’s series finale already tonight, it’s gone by so quick. So, quick recap… Owen’s joined the living dead community, Gwen got married, Tosh, well she’s just Tosh, Ianto is out of his shell getting laid by Cap’ Jack, and well that bloke is as mysterious as ever.

I’m looking forward to tonight, seeing as Captain John (the brutally hot James Marsters) is back. I recently had a season 7 Buffy marathon, and seeing Spike once more was awesome, but I have to admit my affections are waning and going towards the uber-geek Andrew (Tom Lenk - me likes!). He’s too cute. But enough of the Buffy talk…

God damn the frickin’ BBC for moving Torchwood to Friday just so it doesn’t clash with bloody Alan Sugar’s The Apprentice. I know it has messed up the viewing schedule for quiet a few Wood fans, but hey, blessed be the torrenters… :D

That’s all.

I ain’t buying the Trochwood magazine anymore, it’s a waste of money.

I did purchase the new set of Torchwood books though, but I have to start on them. I have been reading the Gossip Girl books, talk about a guilty pleasure. Cecily Von Ziegesar rules. The books are far better than the series (recently started over on ITV2). That said though, watch out for a forthcoming episode where the girls in GG are singing Fergie’s Glamorous!

This is it for the time being.
xoxo :p

Dry Your Eyes Mate...

I’ve neglected my blog!!!

Too much has been happening. I fell in love with a guy, it was the greatest feeling in the world. I suddenly felt I belonged to someone. I had someone to hold and kiss. But then he ditched me. Just my bloody luck. All those break-up songs suddenly make sense. He wants to stay ‘friends’. Pfft.

I’m also now doing an IT course at the moment, which means I can’t fanny around at home full-time. I don’t like the course I’m on, it just had to be full of the most annoying, obnoxious straightest guys they could ever find. So I feel totally out of place and unable to connect with them, which makes me feeling isolated.

If I got talking to them they probably would think Torchwood is a sex position.

But I have to do this training course so I can make loads of money, so I can buy myself a cheap man-whore who will forever love me. Yeah right.

Oh I can’t even bother to spell check this post.

I’ll be posting Torchwood stuff in no time. Oh but there’s so many sites out there, it just feels pointless. Oh well. We’ll see.

Ooooh Culture Club’s Karma Chameleon is playing on the hits right now. gtg bye.

There's All Sort's Of Dodgy Goings On...

Down on animal Pharm…

Reset (2.06)

A weevil is running around an empty warehouse with Owen and Toshiko in pursuit. The second they have the weevil cornered it turns out they are not here for the weevil, there is a dead human body on the ground. At Torchwood HQ a visitor arrives, she’s a VIP and is granted direct access to the hub. It’s Martha Jones, with a cheesy grin on her face.

Martha is working for UNIT. They gather intelligence on aliens, they wear cute red caps apparently… Where’s Martha’s hat? She’s arrived to help the team with their investigations surround a series of mysterious deaths in Wales (mainly South Wales). The victims all died of toxic shock, they have puncture marks on their eyes made by a hypodermic needle and their bloodstreams have been pumped with ammonium hydroxide. The deaths have been written off as suicides and Toshiko finds their medical records are also deleted.
Martha quickly establishes herself as a member of the Torchwood team. To begin with she takes over Owen’s duties, much to his chagrin.

Another victim turns up, Marie, she managed to fend of the attacker and explains that she was attacked by a man with a needle (honey are you sure it was needle he was waving at you?!). When Marie is on her last legs, Martha and Owen go and interview her and find out about a medication she took called Reset, it had cured her of HIV and she got it from a place called the Pharm, a medical research place where she was a clinical trial subject.

Marie dies and out of her body a swarm of flies come out and die instantly. They look like dragonflies. They are parasites and come packaged with the Pharms ‘cure-all’ wonder drug Reset. Dr Aaron Copley runs the Pharm and it turns out they are situated in an area high in alien lifeforms, they have been capturing the other worldly beings who have passed through the rift and used them in medical experiments/tests. As in the previous episode Meat, the human is exploiting the qualities of the alien lifeforms for their own use. Is this any different to animal testing that is carried out?

Jack and Owen fail to get to the bottom of things when they meet with Dr. Copley, so Martha offers herself as a medical test subject to get into the company. She get’s a cool set of contact lenses which are thermal powered cameras so that the Torchwood gang can see what she is doing. She get’s in with the company and gets Toshiko access to their files, mission accomplished. As she tries to leave the Pharm she has a run in with a giant version of the parasite. Oh and she get’s recaptured.

Using the computer access, the team find a hit list of test patients for assasination. Luckily enough, the hit man is on his way to the last victims house. The Torchwood team intercept. They interrigate and then use him to get into the Pharm for the final stand-off.

Well We Know How It Ends…
Analysing her blood, Dr. Copley finds that Martha’s blood is ‘exotic’ it is apparent she has travelled through time and space. She has developed a unique immune system. I bet the Doctor didn’t tell her about that when she signed up.
The Torchwood gang arrive at Pharm to rescue Martha, seeing the state the aliens are kept in is shocking and Jack decides to close the Pharm down for good. Dr. Copley won’t go down with a fight though, he has a gun and threatens to shoot. The Pharm is his livelihood, he plans to change the world with his research.
Owen ends up getting shot in the chest by the Dr. Copley. Jack retaliates and shoots the Doctor bang in the middle of his forehead. The Torchwood gang gather to assist Owen…

Episode Highlights…
Owen remembered Toshiko’s offer of going out to play pool, she comes out right and admits it was a date proposal, which suprises Owen. Owen considers it and accepts her offer under the condition he still gets to flirt with the ladies.
Again Owen shone in this episode, mainly through his interactions with Martha.
The Torchwood gang find out a bit more about their leader Captain Jack through Martha.

Questions Raised…
Is Owen dead?!?! He can’t be!!!

Best Quote:
Well there were many quippy one liners and exchanges. Definitely a well written fast paced episode. Many of the funnier quotes were, as usual, relating to Harkness’ sexuality.
Martha: So… Jack asked me if I could get you a UNIT cap to wear.
Ianto: *excited* Did he!… *blushing*… Well… Red is my colour.
Martha: So am I right in thinking that you and he…
Ianto: We… Dabble…
Martha: Yeah?…
Ianto: Yep.
Martha: So what’s his dabbling like?
Ianto: Innovative.
Martha: Really?!
Ianto: Borderline avant garde.
Martha: Wow!
Ianto: *his thoughts trail away* Oh yeah…

Final Thoughts:
The story line is very similar to the Torchwood book ‘Slow Decay‘, I won’t say more, don’t want to spoil the book for you!
The episode was very fast paced and energetic, so much was happening. The two guest roles of the Doctor Who chick and the guy from Ugly Betty made it a special episode indeed. Also having the focus away from Gwen was a pleasant change.
